Our Heritage
A Legacy Woven Since 1988
The YK Fabric Studio story begins in Vijayawada, where founder Krishna Garulearnt the art of cloth and trade at the side of his own father. Together, they built a reputation for quality menswear at Vastralatha — one of the city’s most celebrated and well-known clothing destinations. It was here that Krishna Garu mastered the nuance of fabric, fit, and the trust between a tailor and his customer.
As the business grew, so did his vision. Krishna Garu moved to Hyderabad, where he expanded into multiple KLM Shopping Malls across the city, owning and operating the entire textile in every location. For years, his name became synonymous with premium men’s fashion in Hyderabad’s bustling retail landscape.
Our Legacy of Fashion
Every great brand begins with a vision. Ours traces back to 1988, in the bustling textile markets of Vijayawada, where our founder Krishna Garu first stepped into the world of cloth and trade. What started as a humble textile venture soon grew into a name recognized across Andhra Pradesh. Through dedication, entrepreneurial spirit, and an unwavering passion for fashion, he built a reputation that extended far beyond business. In an era when trust and relationships defined success, his name became synonymous with quality, style, and innovation in the textile industry.
As the journey progressed, his distinctive personality and love for fashion earned him unique recognition. Known for his bold sense of style and appreciation for fine craftsmanship, he became affectionately known by many names throughout different chapters of his life. Each name reflected not only his growing influence but also his evolving identity in the world of fashion and business.
From Vijayawada to Rajahmundry, and later to Hyderabad, every milestone marked a new beginning. Expanding into new markets and embracing fresh opportunities, he continued to redefine fashion retail while staying rooted in the values that built his success — trust, quality, and customer satisfaction.
His association with some of the most respected names in the textile industry further strengthened his reputation. Over the decades, he became more than a businessman; he became a style icon whose passion for fashion inspired generations of customers and entrepreneurs alike.

The Next Chapter — Yashwanth
But the dream was always bigger than a store — it was a brand. That dream took its true shape when Krishna Garu and his son Yashwanth came together to create YK Fabric Studio: a space where decades of fabric expertise meet contemporary design, and where every garment tells a story of heritage, precision, and father-son craftsmanship.
Yashwanth brought more than just a family name to YK Fabric Studio — he brought a world of experience in front of the camera and on the runway. After graduating from college, he stepped into the world of high-fashion modelling, representing some of the biggest brands in the industry.
His passion for storytelling soon led him to the silver screen. Yashwanth acted in several acclaimed short films before making his mark as a lead actor in feature films for the big screen. His performances earned him awards and critical recognition, shaping him into a creative force who understands presence, poise, and style from both sides of the lens.
Today, that creative eye shapes every collection at YK Fabric Studio. From understanding how fabric falls under stage lights to knowing exactly what a groom needs to feel confident on his big day, Yashwanth bridges the worlds of cinema, fashion, and timeless ethnic craftsmanship.
Today, that same spirit lives on through our brand. We carry forward a legacy built over four decades of experience, dedication, and an enduring love for fashion. Every collection we create reflects the journey that began in 1988 and found its newest expression when father and son came together in Hyderabad to launch YK Fabric Studio — a journey driven by excellence, innovation, and the belief that fashion is more than clothing; it is a statement of identity.
Our story is not merely about garments. It is about heritage, ambition, and the timeless pursuit of style. From one generation to the next, we remain committed to delivering fashion that celebrates individuality while honoring the legacy that made us who we are today.
More than three decades later, the reason people continue to remember our founder is simple: his passion for fashion never faded. That passion remains the heart of our brand and the inspiration behind everything we do.
